North East: questions landlords ask

When must I register a rental property in North East?

North East's registration period runs from 15 June 2027 to 14 September 2027. Occupied properties must be registered before midnight on 14 September 2027. You may register earlier, from 15 December 2026.

How much will I pay if I register on 15 June 2027?

£37.82 for that property's first year if it is your first registration: (65 / 366) × (366 − 153), rounded down. Your renewal date would be 15 June 2028.

And if I leave it to the last day, 14 September 2027?

£53.98: (65 / 366) × (366 − 62), rounded down, with renewal on 14 September 2028. Registering later raises the first bill but pushes your first renewal back by the same time.

I also have properties outside North East. What should I do?

You can register them all on one day, as long as that day is on or before the earliest end date among your regions. Every property then shares one renewal date.
